Terms of Service
Effective Date: October 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Pickleball Breakdown as a player. By creating an account, claiming a Free Lesson, buying a lesson or plan, or sending a clip, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What Pickleball Breakdown Is
Pickleball Breakdown is a marketplace that connects players with independent coaches. You send a video clip of your game, and a coach you choose records a video lesson on your footage.
Coaches are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Pickleball Breakdown. Each coach decides how to coach and is responsible for the lessons they deliver. We check every coach's application before their profile goes public, but we do not guarantee any particular result from a lesson.
2. Who Can Use It
You must be 18 or older to create an account. A parent or guardian may use their own account to get lessons for a child in their care, and is responsible for that use.
You agree that the information you give us is accurate, and you are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.
3. Lessons and Plans
Each coach offers the same plans at prices the coach sets: a Single Lesson, paid once, which does not expire; and two monthly plans, Standard (2 lessons a month) and Pro (4 lessons a month). Some coaches also offer a Free Lesson.
A clip you send can be up to 10 minutes long. The coach's reply time, shown on their profile, starts once your clip has finished processing.
Lessons in a monthly plan are for that month. Lessons you have not used when the plan renews or ends do not carry over.
A Free Lesson must be used within 3 days of claiming it, and you can hold one unused Free Lesson at a time.
A coach can take a limited number of students. A coach who is full cannot take a new purchase until a place opens.
4. Prices and Payment
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.
Monthly plans renew automatically each month at the same price until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Payments or Lessons; your plan stays active until the end of the month you paid for, and the month is not refunded in part.
Charges appear on your statement as PICKLEBALL BREAKDOWN.
5. Refunds
If your coach misses their reply time, you can choose a refund for that lesson or ask for another coach to take your clip. A refund for a Single Lesson is the full price; a refund for one lesson of a monthly plan is that lesson's share of the month.
If a coach stops coaching on Pickleball Breakdown, monthly plans with them end at the close of the paid month, and lessons you paid for and could not use are refunded in proportion.
A lesson that has been delivered is not refunded, unless we decide otherwise in a particular case. If something went wrong with a lesson, write to hello@pickleballbreakdown.app and we will look into it.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
If you have a problem with a charge, please contact us before disputing it with your bank, so we can put it right quickly. While a charge is disputed, the lessons it paid for are withdrawn, and a clip waiting with a coach is cancelled.
6. Your Videos
You keep ownership of the clips and other material you send (“Your Content”). You confirm that you have the right to send it, including the permission of anyone else who appears in it.
You give your coach, and Pickleball Breakdown, permission to store, view and use Your Content only to provide your lessons and run the service. We do not use Your Content in our marketing without asking you first.
The lessons coaches record for you are theirs, and you may watch them for your own personal use. Please do not publish or share a coach's lesson without their permission.
7. Messages, Ratings and Conduct
Some plans include messages with your coach. Coaches usually reply within a day or two; messages are not a substitute for a lesson.
After a lesson you can rate it and leave a review, which is shown publicly with your first name. Reviews must be honest and about your own lesson. We may hide a review that is abusive, off topic, or not genuine.
You may not use Pickleball Breakdown to harass anyone, to send unlawful content, or to arrange paid coaching with a coach outside the platform in order to avoid our fees.
8. Playing Safely
Pickleball, like any sport, carries a risk of injury. Coaching on Pickleball Breakdown is general instruction based on the footage you send; it is not medical advice. Practice within your own fitness and ability, and see a qualified professional about any injury or health concern.
9. Our Responsibility to You
We work to keep Pickleball Breakdown running well, but the service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, Pickleball Breakdown is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
10. Suspension and Closing Your Account
You can stop using Pickleball Breakdown at any time. Cancelling a plan does not close your account; write to hello@pickleballbreakdown.app if you want it closed.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or puts coaches, players or the platform at risk. If we close your account without cause, we will refund lessons you paid for and could not use.
11. Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will tell you by email or in the app before it applies; using Pickleball Breakdown after that means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
